Re-read of Crossed by Ally Condie

Crossed by Ally Condie (Matched #2)

Summary from Goodreads:
In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky — taken by the Society to his certain death — only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.

Cassia’s quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander — who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia’s heart — change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever.

3.5 Stars

My Review:
I loved Matched. Although it came along when other dystopian books came also, it still was one of my favorites.  Although Crossed did not thrill me as Matched did, I still liked it and I just re-read it in getting ready to read Reached (Matched #3).  I'm glad I did the re-read.

I have some of the same complaints as before.  I like the switching of points of view to get inside Ky's head.  However, there are points about 3/4 of the way through the book that the 2 points of view get muddled.  They are not as distinguishable as I wish they were.

Also, there is so much angst.  I guess it is a rebellion.  I like the lovey parts.  I hope Reached has lovey parts included with the rebellion.  And, I'm looking forward to finding out about Xander and his role in all of this.

Warnings: None

I would let my 14 year old read this, and she has.
